Nice touch.

Well, the 3-day weekend is over, and I go back to work in an hour and a half, but I'm rested. Nice to have 3 days off.
April is still on the mend, as far as I know, although I was impressed--she didn't have to take any painkillers before going to bed. If she didn't wake up with pain during the night, that means the last time she took one of them was 2:30 PM yesterday, which could mean a very good thing.
However, the weekend ended on a slightly worried note: poor April is getting shafted at Barnes & Noble--they're cutting hours drastically, for everyone. She went from about 30 hours a week to a scheduled 12 last week, and this week she's not on the schedule at all. 0 hours. Every other part timer has 10 or less, from what she told me, she being the only one with 0. Normally in retail, that's the first glaring sign of a massive layoff or job cut, with such a drastic reduction of hours. Today she'll go in and chat with the scheduling manager (since the store manager has washed her hands of this and refuses to do anything more) and we'll see what happens. If they can't work something out, April will be applying at Wal-Mart, even if it only means that she'll be there 3-4 months, if she's hired. We need that 2nd income--I can't support both of us on just what I make alone, even with my pending raise. It's not enough, alas.
The canvass letters for state jobs keep coming in. Now we have to send them all back with our yes or no, and go from there.
The FGCB contest will also be resuming tonight, 10:30 PM, normal time.
That's enough, normal view.
