It's been busy over the last few days, with some highlights here and there.

Friday was the last day of Wal-Mart, hopefully for good this time. Allison/Adam came by to see me for a last time before heading out, which was very nice of them. I had purchased the very last thing I'd get with my Wal-Mart discount card about 10 minutes before my shift ended--Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Saturday, we began the first day of the major packing, but we took the time to go to Red Lobster to celebrate our 2-year anniversary. The waitress was very nice--at the end, when she asked us for dessert, we had filled--gorged--ourselves on seafood, and ran out of room. She came back with a little cup of ice cream with a candle in it, telling us that someone had tipped her off...we mentioned to the woman who seated us that it was our anniversary. It was cute!

Oh, a little story about the shit shape the Photo Lab is in--on Saturday, first day of being free from Wal-Mart, I get a phone call from a desperate Hope in the lab--someone put in an accidental order for 65 8x10s, and she doesn't know how to delete it. NO ONE in the lab does. They called the 2 managers, but they're both off for the weekend, so they go to me. Technically, I'm not supposed to do ANYTHING Wal-Mart related without getting paid for it. However, I walked her through it, and all was saved. The Photo Lab has been left in the hands of associates who know very little beyond the basics--there are NO Specialists there now. The associates who are left do not have the knowledge and the ability to run the lab without management. I blame this entirely on my managers. We went understaffed over 3 months ago when Dana and Todd got fired. They refused to hire anyone else to replace them because they would save money on payroll. They knew I was leaving in May. Allison got fired. Rob left.

Then they realized they were in trouble. My former bosses hired a newbie (total newbie, doesn't know a thing about Photo) exactly 1 week before I left. No way can anyone be trained properly in a week. Especially in a hands-on department like that. You can't just stick any idiot in there and let them go.

So now, they're short 4 people, and only NOW are my former bosses hiring. Ah, well. In a couple more days, I won't have to worry...the phone number they have will be obsolete, and I didn't write my cell phone down.

Ah, well.

Yesterday, April's family came down, and we had use of her dad's pickup and her mom's van to put things in. ALL the furniture went out, thank god. Most of our apartment went out yesterday. The rest, it looks like, will fit in April's car. We stayed the night at April's parents, and we came back home today, where we did more packing and cleaning. I sent out Mom's gift for Ma's day, and here we are. We got through some packing, then we went out to the buffet for dinner, came back--and now April's sitting on the living room floor with her laptop, and I sit on the kitchen floor typing this.

And also finally, 1 year after Carolyn gave them to me, I finished watching Fullmetal Alchemist! Great series, overall. Definitely had its emotional moments, and had another rarity--a last episode that didn't confuse the fuck out of me. Still, to this day, Evangelion confuses me.

FMA didn't end as I'd hoped, but tied up a lot of loose ends. Didn't beat Trigun on my favorites list, but a damn good series all in all. Carolyn, I'll need an address to send these discs back to you.

All right, time to either play some PS2 or watch Advent Children.

Nighty night, all.
