This next post is about...DRINKING!

Well, not really.
I said I'd follow up with a real post soon, and so, the opportunity has presented itself. A good deal has happened in the last 2 weeks since I got my driver's license. Last week, my boss was on vacation, so with an already depleted staff, I got to handle her duty of answering the phone for the idiot customers who want to know the status of their "Lotto Prescriptions."
The plus? No boss. Another plus: I could actually have music on. Seeing as how my boss is also a pastor at one of the local churches, silence is golden to her. Every time I have music a hair above mute, I'm asked to put headphones on or shut it off. Headphones is a no because as we are short-staffed, I must listen out for phones. Music helps me work, and silence drives me nuts. If it's not gospel music, it must be snuffed out. So, had the music on. Until today, when she came back.
Had my yearly physical a couple weeks ago, and the Doc told me that the cholesterol is creeping into the danger zone. Put on 15 pounds in the last year...ah, the joys of a desk job where I sit on my ass for 8 hours a day. So, I was told to exercise, eat healthier, and less. And I have been--there's a fitness room in the apartment complex, been using that.
None of my pictures that I entered in this year's Gazette (our local paper) Photo Contest won, alas. I was an honorable mention last year, but didn't get a thing here. So I'll try again next year.
Last weekend, went down to Washingtonville (near Monroe) after fetching Wyatt for an expedition to opening day to this year's RenFaire. We needed a place to crash, and so that's what family is for. We spent our sleeping time with my grandma and aunt. Saturday was spent all day at the Faire, but I have to brag:
Dan H, you'll get a kick out of this one. Most of you know that last year I entered the RenFaire photo contest. None of my pics won, which left me bummed. However, sometimes they find uses for the pics that didn't make it. So, we got there, April bought a program--AND ONE OF MY PICTURES IS THE BACK COVER OF THIS YEAR'S PROGRAM! It's one of my Dextre Tripp pics!

I don't get photographer credit, BUT I DON'T CARE! I MADE THE BACK COVER! And this was just after 10 AM! I still had 9 more hours of Faire to go!
The only addition I got for my costume was via April, who bought matching feathers for my blue hat as you see in the icon. I look more like a fop now. I found the boots I want, and know the price, so I'm saving up for it, as well as a new belt pouch.
And to the Ramapo friends: we're going to the Faire on Labor Day weekend. Maybe not all 3 days, but I'd like to. Labor Day weekend is September 1-3, so let me know when you're available.
Sunday, with our money spent, I drove April and Wyatt to my old house on Lake Street, chatted with a former neighbor, and then it was off to the Palisades Mall. April had never been. For me, it was full of memories. For April, she enjoyed it, but felt overwhelmed by too much mall. With some of my last few dollars, I bought a Lovecraft book. We were there for some hours, exploring, and then it was back home. We dropped Wyatt off at NP, then it was home for rest and sex.
Oh, and I finally broke down and got a Facebook. I wish to begin expanding myself, get me and my photos out there. If you haven't already, friend me: Meeee!
Which brings me to now. And the end of this post, because I'm in the mood for some April.
Nighty night, all.
