Unusual is the fact when I don't update LJ for nearly 3 weeks with a real post. There's been a number of goings-on in the last week, more so during the last couple of weekends...weekdays are filled with work, work, and usually...more work. No shock there.
2 weeks ago, April and I went to Cape Cod to see my family and to go to King Richard's Faire. Fun times, April got me a djembe (a drum) and I got some Lord of the Rings artwork from Ed Beard, who does the artwork for the Magic: The Gathering stuff. Seeing the family was much fun, and I've persuaded Rob to get a Wii. A slightly on-edge weekend for Rob and his girlfriend, because she's currently great with child, and can pop at any time...alas, her boy doesn't want to come out of its warm, comfy place. Neither would I, quite frankly--free food, a warm place to sleep, not having to pay rent or utilities...I'd miss the video gaming, though. And the Internet. Family, otherwise, is doing well.
Peter and Erica were here last Sunday for fun and nerdular nerdence--April and I have begun to create our characters for our first plunge into D&D. Yes. I know. The upper echelons of geekdom. But we'll see what happens. Maybe I'll love it.
Took some overtime at work, and have been watching the baseball playoffs. October's a month of lost sleep.
NaNoWriMo is coming up, I'll be getting ready for that.
Stephen Colbert announced his candidacy for President. If he's on the ballot here, I'm voting for him in a heartbeat. He makes the most sense.
Joe Torre is no longer the Yankees' manager, and more power to him.
Maybe the Red Sox won't implode.
Maybe my collection of singing potatoes will comfort me.
Am I falling out of this chair?
Why is the sky blue?
Ah, stomach's growling. Time for some food.
