The mark of a good book is the ability to make you emotional, whether it's happiness, joy, sadness, whatever. For the better part of the afternoon though, I felt sad. Nothing was wrong with me physically, but today I finished reading the latest book by Tolkien, The Children of Hurin. And it's such a sad, sad, story. It reads very much like a Greek or Shakespearian tragedy, and it's...just such a sad tale. You definitely feel for the main character. Excellent, excellent book, I encourage any fan of Tolkien to read it. To take my mind out of the sad, tomorrow I will resume my reading of the 5-book Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy. Douglas Adams after this sad story will be quite a jump, and then after I'm done, who knows?
So I'm coming down to Ramapo on Wednesday, and so far, things look set. All the lodging is set and done, and I'll definitely be bringing some games, extra Wiimotes, and my bowling ball (for I will probably hit up the lanes at some point).
On the video game front, looks like I'm nearing the end of both Parasite Eve and Dragon Warrior 1. Reviews to come when I beat them.
Yesterday, we went to B&N, and I bought the first 2 seasons of the British version of Whose Line is it Anyway, because I like it as much, if not more, than the US version. The Brits can get away with dirtier humor then we can here. Stupid FCC, most useless agency ever, more so than the IRS. Anyway, I watched a few episodes with April, and we'll be doing more so tonight.
Like right now. Useless entry, I know, but, eh, it's only been a couple of days since my last one. Not too much has happened, outside of work.
Nighty night, all.
