a_bit_of_wit_2Hey, hey, hey, it's that time again. Getting ready for the summer character battle contest, the first in the new smaller format. Simply put, the new format consists of 32 characters instead of 128, and those 32 will be piled into ONE bracket, not 4 divisions. We'll try it this summer and winter, see how it goes. So, for this 9th incarnation of the character battle contest, the theme is going to be game or series specific. And you'll be voting on the game or series that will be the subject. The choice that has the most will be the topic of the contest. You're allowed one vote.
Now, the explanations:
1) Final Fantasy: Even though we've already had a FF-themed contest, some of you have once again suggested this one. In the 4 years since we've done the FF theme, several new games have been released, and also, in the original contest, I used only characters from the main numbered series, and none of the offshoots. This contest would feature more of those new characters, with a handful of classics.
2) Resident Evil: self-explanatory. It'd be a contest of 32 characters from the Resident Evil series.
3) Xenosaga: same thing, 32 from the 3 Xenosaga games.
4) Dragon Quest: all characters from the main 8 Dragon Quest games.
5) Chrono series: 32 characters from Chrono Trigger and its sequel, Chrono Cross.
6) Silent Hill: same thing.
7) Mario series: Yeesh. The tricky part would be WHAT 32 characters to use. However, if you're in for a classic Nintendo brawl, vote for it!
8) Metal Gear Solid: 32 characters from the 4 main MGS games, including its offshoots.
9) Pokemon: yes, some of you even suggested this one. However, if this is the one that's chosen, I will pick 32 Pokemon from the ORIGINAL 151.
10) Suggest your own: you have a bright idea? Let's hear it! If I love it, and so does everyone else, we'll do it!
