Character suggestions for CB13 now open!

a_bit_of_wit_2I noticed no one acknowledged the fact that I announced the theme of the next Character Battle contest, so I'm hoping this gets your attention.
For the first time since these contests went to a 64-character format, we are going to have four divisions instead of two. Each division will have 16 characters from a classic gaming franchise. However, it's now time to ask YOU, future players, which characters you'd like to see in the contest.
The four franchises that will be represented are: Sonic the Hedgehog, The Legend of Zelda, Dragon Quest, and Castlevania.
What I ask from you is this--give me your ideas for characters! The 16 most requested characters in each franchise will be part of the contest bracket. Hopefully, every character in the contest is a familiar, well-known character instead of a bottom-feeder that's nothing more than fodder to be eliminated in the first round.
Some basic guidelines:
1) I ask that no more than 10 characters can be suggested--I don't want someone giving me a list of every single character in the four franchises represented. If you do, I'm chucking your list.
2) I prefer to have suggestions sent anonymously, to encourage both a wide range of selections and also repetition. The more a character is suggested, the higher the seeding. Suggestions can be left here as anonymous LJ comments, or by sending me a Facebook message, or directly emailing me at LLoire1119@hotmail.com with the subject line "CB13 character ideas."
3) Do not suggest the following characters, for they're automatically in the contest:
Sonic
Tails
Knuckles
Dr. Robotnik
Link
Zelda
Ganondorf/Ganon
Hero (Dragon Quest 8)
Slime
Corvus
Simon Belmont
Dracula
Death
Everyone else in the four franchises is fair game for suggestions.
4) I'm going to stop taking suggestions near the end of the month so I can make a bracket and have signups start in the first week of June.
5) If, by the end of the suggestion period, I have characters tied for number of suggestions, I'll decide their place in the bracket by dice roll.
