With 4 episodes left before the first season of Downloadable Content draws to a close, I want to make any and all potential interested panelists aware of when recordings will be, and what the topics for discussion are.
Wednesday, October 19, 7 PM ET--Has graphics supplanted good story and gameplay? Something I seem to notice particularly with this current generation of consoles is the perceived absence of well-written, well-played games. I can't help but notice that game developers seem to be placing more and more emphasis on breathtaking graphics than they are in making a good story and/or gameplay. Agree or disagree? We'll give our own thoughts on the matter.
Saturday, November 5, around 2 PM ET--Media Bias: is there a noted bias in professional video game reviews? Magazines like Game Informer and Nintendo Power both feature game reviews, but how much of those reviews are actually advertisements to push games they want to sell? How much of it is actually the opinion of the writer? We've seen examples of glowing reviews which end up translating poorly in sales, and we've also seen the reverse. Are there unbiased professional opinions out there?
Saturday, November 5, around 5 PM ET--Open discussion. Exactly what it sounds like. I've wanted to have an episode like this. Every episode thus far has had me present a topic for discussion. Now I open the floor to anyone who wants to talk about anything related to video games. Hopefully, we can also get listeners to submit their thoughts before the episode is recorded as well.
Saturday, December 3, around 2 PM ET--Bests and worsts of 2011. Another self-explanatory episode--we're going to give our own personal thoughts of the best and worst games of the year, and what games we're looking forward to in 2012.
All dates are subject to change, but unless real life gets in the way, this appears to be the plan. If anyone is interested in recording any or all of these episodes with me, then by all means, let me know!
