a_bit_of_wit_2So I ended up staying up a total of 40 hours straight before heading to bed. I don't think more than 2 minutes passed from the time I hit the pillow to the time I passed out. 9+ hours later, I woke, refreshed. Went to work, and because they needed help in the photo lab, I obliged. However, customer stupidity was at an all-time high.
Customer, female: Will this battery work in my camcorder?
Brian: What kind of camcorder do you have?
C: A Sony Mavica.
B: (looks at package, Of course. She didn't read the packaging. If she did, she would have found the obvious wording saying Mavica compatable. ) Yep, this battery will work.
C: Ok, great. Um...is this battery fully charged?
B: Probably not, ma'am. They tell you that because it probably isn't charged, you should charge it for a full day before using it.
C: Well, if I buy this battery, put it in my camera, and find out that it isn't charged, can I return it?
B: (What the fuck are you saying? Did I just hear you correctly? Return the battery because it isn't charged? ) Um...I don't think that the Service Desk will take it back, since it isn't defective at all. It just needs to be charged. Do you have a charger?
C: I did, but I lost it.
B: I recommend you buy another one, then, so you can actually charge the battery, for those things will last.
C: But I'm already spending $60 for the battery, and I don't want to spend more money for the charger.
B: (Oh, so you're just very lazy, and I'm getting pissed at you. ) Usually any rechargable battery, whether it's regular AA or anything, will usually come not charged.
C: But can I return the battery if it isn't charged?
B: (Apparently you don't get it, woman. ) Let me see if I can have a person from Photo to help you.
Yeah. I told Vickie (who was in Photo) the situation, and she almost burst out in laughter. Later on, I get reported to the assistant manager by a customer, and get threatened to be reported to the District Manager. So I went on my break pissed. I chatted with Sarah on my break, and when I returned, the next part of the day flew by. So, I got home, chatted with April, and just sat here unwinding.
