Despite last night's drunken revelry, Rob ended up ok. I had to check a couple times during the night before going to bed to see if he was still breathing. Yes, I was that worried about him. Would I wake and find a corpse? Probably not, but with the total amount of alcohol consumed (he estimated around 18 shots on the night) and given his actions (i.e., trying to get out of a car moving at 40 MPH, spending 10 minutes trying to get out of icy water in a cranberry bog), I had every right to be worried. I'm sorry to all of you people who do drink and get plastered--but it fits the definition of stupidity. To know full well what will happen to you if you drink too much and then proceed to get to that point, then finding yourself puking accompanied with a hangover the following morning...and doing it repeatedly--it's the definition of stupidity. While you have every right (and do defend) to do whatever you like, I can't stop you. I can only give you advice and warn you of the consequences, but I can't stop you. Will I stop worrying for you, despite you telling me that I worry too much or not to worry? Never. I love you all too much. While there's nothing wrong with getting drunk, there is something wrong with getting shit-faced. Getting a little tipsy or nicely inebriated can be fun. I've done it. Probably will do it again. However...one must know when to stop. I will never stop worrying for all of you when you go drinking. It's called caring for each other--it's what people do.
And don't try to even bring up that whole bit about needing to get drunk to escape stress. I don't subscribe to that bullshit. Personally, even during the shittiest of circumstances, I like to have all my wits about me.
(end rant)
Nothing really major went on today--I operated on the PS2 today (thanks to Doug for giving me that site--very, very helpful!) and found that the problem wasn't dirt, as I had thought. Turns out that the gear that raises the lens was off its spindle, making it so that it couldn't spin (or if it could, only to the level to where it could read only PS1 games). So, I put the gear back in its place, blew some compressed air in it, and successfully fixed the system. (is proud) There was no blood, I didn't kill the system, and all is good. I played a lot of Paper Mario today, and I'm nearing game's end. Looks like LotR: Third Age will be back in play shortly. Let's see...what's left to beat?
Paper Mario (GC)
Lord of the Rings: Third Age (PS2)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2)
Final Fantasy 5 (PS)
Final Fantasy 6 (PS)
Silent Hill 2 (PS2)
Silent Hill 3 (PS2)
Resident Evil: Outbreak (PS2)
Final Fantasy 2 (PS)
Pending:
Resident Evil 4 (GC)
Xenosaga: Episode 2 (PS2)
So, yeah...I've got enough to keep me occupied for a long time.
Chatted with April for some time today, and Sarah briefly. I also got plenty more of my characters' pics for the upcoming VGV contest. Now it's getting harder to find the remaining 27. If you wanna help out, find the pics for these characters and email them to me (Xcbrian2@aol.com, LLoire1119@hotmail.com, LLoire01@yahoo.com, E.Roivas@gmail.com):
