Monday, 25 June 2007 08:02So the week came and went, overtime at work finally coming to an end. However, one of our keypunchers has left working for the Lottery, having found a teaching position in Kingston. Congrats to her, and I wish her luck. Unfortunately, now the brunt of the office workload, which had been nicely spread out between the two of us will now shift to me, methinks. Which means that until I get promoted or someone else gets hired, I'm probably not going to be able to just take a day off because I want to, either because I'm extremely tired or just don't feel like going in. I usually don't, anyway, but it's nice to have that option. Regardless, I interviewed for a promotional position last Thursday, we'll see how it goes. If I get hired, it's a salary increase of about $4,000 a year, and the position involves number crunching, which means NO CUSTOMER INTERACTION. AT ALL. YAY!
My road test is in a month, and I'm getting the hang of this driving thing. Still wish I had my red shells, though. The Delaware River trip is coming up in about 9 days, and with Mary coming, we now have our 8 people. I haven't been back there since before going to NP, so this'll be a nice return. Everyone's psyched.
However, to my fellow RenFriends, the time is now to begin planning trips to the NY RenFaire, which runs from August 4 to September 23. I am almost positive that April and I are going at least for opening and closing weekend, and also most likely a weekend in late August or early September when Dan gets back, and we can go with the Dans, Carolyn, Sara, Shanna, Kristen, Wyatt, and whoever else feels like going. Let's start chatting about it.
April's brother, Ryan, graduated from high school yesterday, barely. He's a master at just getting in at the wire, or so it seems. But regardless, he graduated, and so we were at the house yesterday for food and merriment, and pics, which will be developed this week. Speaking of this week, I am gonna spend it resizing the pics for the contest.
And speaking of the contest, there is now 1 week left until signups for Generation Seven ends. 10 people have entered so far, and so the contest will go on. However, the more the merrier, considering this is going to be the second to last of these large-scale contests I intend on doing. You have until midnight ET, July 3. Links:
